Responsibilities
  • Provides skilled interventions in accordance with the physician-approved plan of care and under the supervision of an occupational therapist.
  • Documents each visit according to AOTA guidelines and regulatory standards for inclusion in the patient’s clinical record.
  • Observes, records, and reports the patient’s response to treatment and any change in condition to the supervising OT, physician, and clinical staff.
  • Provides patient/caregiver resources for future ADL/IADL needs.
  • Promotes wellness and prevention through occupational engagement.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of community resources/services.
  • Makes follow-up care recommendations in coordination with the care center.
  • Keeps updated on occupational therapy trends and documentation skills.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Current license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the assigned state.
  • Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
  • Eligible for or has completed the NBCOT certification exam for occupational therapy assistants.
  • At least one year of related occupational therapy assistant experience or approval from regional clinical leaders with mentoring/residency.
  • Current CPR certification.
