Job summary

A leading company in low voltage solutions is seeking a Data Center Infrastructure Technician in Dallas, Texas. The role involves pulling and labeling cabling, assisting with terminations, and supporting cable testing. Candidates should have experience with cabling equipment and a strong commitment to safety. Qualifications

  • Experience with RJ45 terminations and punch-downs.
  • Willingness to obtain OSHA 10 certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
  • OSHA 10 certification required within first 2 weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Pull, dress, and label cabling according to TIA/EIA standards.
  • Assist in labeling and cable identification.
  • Support cable testing using basic tools under supervision.
  • Learn and perform basic punch-downs for telecom blocks.
  • Support cable testing using basic tools under supervision.
  • Gain exposure to fiber cable dressing and basic handling.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Take direction from senior technicians and supervisors.

What You'll Do:
  • Pull, dress, and label cabling (Cat5e/Cat6) according to TIA/EIA standards.
  • Begin RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations with guidance.
  • Assist in labeling and cable identification.
  • Learn and perform basic punch-downs for telecom blocks.
  • Support cable testing using basic tools (Fluke, EXFO) under supervision.
  • Gain exposure to fiber cable dressing and basic handling.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Take direction from senior technicians and supervisors.
  • Must be able to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required to do so.

  • Experience testing equipment/cabling, building out racks/cabinets, terminating onto patch panels.
  • Basic understanding of RJ45 terminations and punch-downs.
  • Comfortable working with color-coded wiring.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Willing and able to work days, nights, or weekends based on project needs.
  • Ability to work on ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in confined spaces.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English; bilingual is a plus.
  • OSHA 10 certification (required within first 2 weeks).

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may be required to work in tight, confined spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
