Job summary

Pearce is a leading technology-enabled provider of asset management solutions for mission-critical electromechanical infrastructure across North America. The Pole Attachment Specialist will support OSP telecommunications projects involving pole attachments, permitting, and utility coordination.

You will work with electric utilities, telecoms, and pole owners to move applications from engineering review to approval, review drawings, and ensure compliance with NESC standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience with pole attachment applications, permitting, and approval processes.
  • Strong understanding of utility coordination with electric utilities, telecommunications providers, cable companies, and other pole owners.
  • Experience communicating with utilities through email, phone, and portals to obtain approvals and resolve issues.
  • OSP engineering knowledge to understand pole infrastructure and attachment requirements.
  • Ability to review and interpret work prints, engineering drawings, and design documents.
  • Knowledge of power placement and telecommunications attachments on utility poles.

Responsibilities

Your Impact

The Pole Attachment Specialist should have hands‑on experience supporting OSP telecommunications projects involving utility poles, attachment applications, permitting, and utility coordination.

Candidates should understand the pole attachment process from engineering review through application and approval, including coordinating with pole owners and other utility companies to obtain required permissions.

Core Experience
  • Experience with pole attachment applications, permitting, and approval processes.
  • Strong understanding of utility coordination, including working with electric utilities, telecommunications providers, cable companies, and other pole owners.
  • Experience communicating with utilities through email, phone, and utility systems/portals to obtain attachment approvals and resolve outstanding issues.
  • OSP engineering experience sufficient to understand pole infrastructure and attachment requirements.
  • Ability to review and interpret work prints, engineering drawings, and design documents.
  • Understanding of power placement and telecommunications attachments on utility poles.
  • Experience identifying pole ownership and determining the appropriate utility or jurisdiction responsible for
  • Experience preparing, submitting, tracking, and managing pole attachment permits/applications through final
  • Ability to identify potential conflicts or deficiencies that could delay attachment approval.
  • Familiarity with aerial fiber construction and OSP engineering workflows.
  • Experience coordinating with engineering, permitting, construction, and utility teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple applications, approvals, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of NESC standards and utility‑specific pole attachment requirements is preferred.
Core Qualifications
  • Strong OSP engineering knowledge with direct pole attachment and utility coordination experience
  • Experience reviewing pole designs, work prints, and engineering documents
  • Understanding of power and telecommunications placement on utility poles
  • Ability to identify pole ownership and determine appropriate approval requirements
  • Experience working directly with utilities and cable companies to secure pole attachment permissions and approvals
  • Experience preparing, submitting, tracking, and managing pole attachment applications
  • Experience coordinating with multiple utilities, pole owners, and telecommunications providers
  • Broader experience with OSP engineering, permitting, utility coordination, aerial fiber design, and pole attachments is highly valued
  • Candidates with overlapping OSP skills may also be considered for other related positions

Base Pay Range

$26 - $33 USD
