Qualifications

• Field surveying, data capture, and measurements for telecom projects.
• Strong photodocumentation and GIS/map reading skills preferred.
• KML/KMZ creation and GIS formatting knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform field walks to document poles, underground paths, ROW boundaries, and site conditions.
• Capture photos: pole tags, heights, cable labels, MPOE, handholes, anchors, clearances, obstructions.
• Measure spans, attachment heights, mid-span clearances, and GPS coordinates.
• Record detailed field notes and ensure accurate routed documentation.
• Convert field notes into Google Earth/KMZ format (preferred).
• Identify constructability issues, easements, and permitting requirements.
• Upload and manage field data using platforms like Katapult Pro or IQ GEO.
• Communicate findings with Project Managers and engineering teams.

Position Overview

TheOSPFieldEngineerperformsfieldsurveysandcollectsdatatosupportfiber opticandtelecommunicationsengineeringprojects.Thisroledocumentsexistingaerialandundergroundutilityconditions,validatesroutes,capturesmeasurements,andensuresallinformationrequiredforaccuratedesignandpermittingiscollected.

Key Responsibilities

• Performfieldwalkstodocumentpoles,underground(UG)paths,utilities,right-of-way(ROW)boundaries,andsiteconditions.
• Capturerequiredphotos,includingpoletags,poleheights,cablelabels,MPOE,handholes,anchors,clearances,andobstructions.
• Measurespans,attachmentheights,mid-spanclearances,andaccuratelyrecordGPScoordinates.
• TakedetailedfieldnotesfollowingOSPDesignPrinciplesandmaintainaccurateroutedocumentation.

Qualifications

• AT&Texperienceispreferred(IFP,ASE,andGPONexposureisaplus).
• KnowledgeofGoogleEarthwiththeabilitytocreateoreditKMZ/KMLfilesisaplus.
• UnderstandingofFTTxandAT&TGPONdesignisanadvantage.
• MustbelegallyauthorizedtoworkintheUnitedStates.
• Abilitytoworkoutdoorsinvariousweatherconditionsandperformphysicallydemandingfieldtasks.
• Validdriver'slicenseandreliabletransportation.
