OSP Fiber - Network Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

The OSP Fiber - Network Maintenance Technician is responsible for network reliability, including outage reporting to fiber cabinets, fiber splitter cabinets, and fiber developments. Maintaining existing network backbone from ROW and aerial builds, fixing and repairing issues affecting our network.

Essential Functions

• Splice any type of fiber optic cable in any condition
• Operate bucket truck and mini excavator safely
• Maintain live optical / LOS networks
• Troubleshoot outages using OTDR and other tools
• Record and document all data for management and engineering
• Lead and coordinate maintenance events and outages
• Work extended hours, including nights
• Differentiate cable sizes and colors
• Conduct training and ensure safety compliance
• Complete reports, mark maps, and maintain equipment
• Operate equipment safely and work at heights

Education and Experience

Work Hours and Travel

• Minimum 40 hours/week, mainly night shifts
• 70-100% travel required
