Job Overview

Mi-Tech, a full-service engineering, design, and construction services firm, delivers comprehensive support for utility and infrastructure projects from planning and design through execution. The firm emphasizes cost efficiency, constructability, and long-term value across multiple industries and has recently expanded its capabilities through the 2026 merger with J.D. Hair & Associates.

We are seeking a skilled OSP Designer I to interpret customer-provided route proposals and incorporate them into Outside Plant (OSP) designs. The role includes acquiring field data, importing data into AutoCAD, creating construction and permitting drawings, determining construction unit descriptions, completing design of aerial, buried, and underground OSP projects, and preparing construction unit and material summaries. The candidate will also assist with ROW permitting and submittals, ensure all deliverables are complete at project handoff, and be introduced to fiber/copper counts using customer software.

Responsibilities

• Interpret route proposals and develop OSP designs using AutoCAD, Adobe, GIS, and Excel.
• Acquire, import, and associate field data with design features.
• Determine construction unit descriptions and complete design for aerial, buried, and underground projects.
• Prepare construction unit and material summaries.
• Assist with right‑of‑way permitting and submittals.
• Ensure all deliverable documents are complete at project handoff.
• Participate in learning fiber and copper counts and utilize customer software.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of related experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GIS, and AutoCAD.
• OSP Telecom experience (preferred).
• Detail‑focused, well‑organized, and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work in a team as well as independently with minimal supervision.
