GAC Enterprises, LLC, a leading telecommunication construction company based in Greensboro, NC, is seeking a Underground Construction Field Laborer to join our team in our Albuquerque, New Mexico market. The Ground Hand (underground construction) will be responsible for placing conduit and/or cables in trenches, splice conduit sections (install couplers) as directed, place anchors, pedestals, vaults, etc. to complete construction tasks. The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of the telecommunication construction industry. Assist in the loading/unloading of equipment, materials, and supplies needed for daily work. Must assist leadership (Foreman and or Supervisor) with all duties

Requirements

• Hand dig with shovels, picks, and digging bars to expose located utilities, access u/g vaults, and pedestals, and complete trenches

• Conduit & Cable handling
• Carry and load materials to be used on the job
• Operate small hand tools
• Provide ground support for backhoe and drill operators
• Fully restore worksite at the completion of work, refill trenches and holes, tamp the soil, replant any plants or shrubs that were disturbed during our construction, place temporary asphalt on streets where excavations have been performed.
• Light repair and maintenance of tools and equipment
• Wash and clean equipment and vehicles
• When required and if appropriately licensed and authorized, drive or operate construction equipment used on the job site to complete daily work assignments
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion
