Job summary

Centerline is seeking an experienced OSP Coax Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot coaxial networks in aerial and underground environments, ensuring reliable broadband service. You will perform construction, testing, and repair of HFC systems while following safety standards and company procedures.

The role requires reading prints and maps, working independently on network elements, and operating bucket trucks; a valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of coaxial cable installation or telecom field work.
• Knowledge of HFC networks preferred.
• Experience with aerial and underground construction methods.
• Ability to read and understand system maps and design prints.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, and repair coaxial cable in OSP environments (aerial & underground).
• Perform aerial and underground coax construction, including strand placement and cable lashing.
• Perform signal level testing, sweep, and system balancing.
• Read and interpret prints, maps, and network diagrams.
• Troubleshoot repair faults efficiently.
• Operate bucket trucks and other telecom equipment.
• Document work completed and maintain accurate records.

Job description

Experienced OSP Coax Technician needed to install, maintain, and troubleshoot coaxial cable networks in aerial and underground environments. This hands-on role supports reliable broadband service through construction, testing, and repair of HFC systems.

What you will do:

• Install, splice, and repair coaxial cable in OSP environments (aerial & underground)
• Perform aerial and underground coax construction, including strand placement and cable lashing
• Perform signal level testing, sweep, and system balancing
• Read and interpret prints, maps, and network diagrams
• Troubleshoot repair faults efficiently
• Confident working independently on both passive and active network elements
• Operate bucket trucks and other telecom equipment
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
• Document work completed and maintain accurate records

Preferred Skills

• Experience with sweep and balance of coax systems
• Knowledge of RF signal flow and troubleshooting techniques
• Familiarity with cable TV or broadband network systems
• OSHA safety training or certification

What you will need:

• 1–3+ years of experience in coaxial cable installation or telecommunications field work
• Strong knowledge of HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) networks preferred
• Experience with aerial and underground construction methods
• Ability to read and understand system maps and design prints
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined space

Work Environment

• Repeated and frequent ability to lift, from floor to above head 40 lbs continuously
• Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach and utilize both hands and feet in an aerial and underground capacity. Environmental Conditions exposure is heat, cold, dust, wet, vibration and very loud noise
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
• Frequent maintenance window work will be required and included as part of schedule.
