Job summary

Wind River, based in Walnut Creek, CA, seeks a Member of Technical Staff for the OS Kernel to advance the VxWorks embedded OS. You will design and implement kernel features, uphold security, safety, and real-time reliability, and work across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years in OS development including kernel and driver work.
• Strong understanding of OS concepts and realtime requirements.
• Experience with RTOS development and core OS kernel functionality.
• Proficiency in C with embedded systems focus.
• Experience with C++, Python and related languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core OS technologies for the VxWorks embedded OS.
• Deliver high-quality design, code, and tests within CI/CD and Agile processes.
• Investigate and resolve issues reported during verification and by customers.
• Create design documents and conduct code reviews for new tech.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software solutions.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
