Job summary

Aptiv is seeking an OS Kernel Engineer in Walnut Creek, CA. You will aid in developing kernel components for the VxWorks operating system, focusing on implementation, testing, and debugging. Collaborating with experienced engineers, you'll build your skills in system-level development.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience, including internships, co-ops, or academic project work.
• Knowledge or basic experience with core OS kernel functionality.
• Demonstrated ability to adopt and master new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of Core OS technologies for VxWorks.
• Contribute to coding, testing, and validation following CI/CD.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for hardware and software integration.

Skills

Knowledge of operating systems concepts

Knowledge or basic experience with RTOS software development

C programming

Experience with assembly, C++, Python

Experience with low-level device drivers

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Self-motivated, fast learner
