Job summary

Tachyum is seeking an experienced OS kernel and system software engineer to design, port, and optimize kernel components, drivers, and virtualization features. You will debug complex kernel issues, optimize performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance bleeding-edge technology.

Qualifications

  • Strong C/C++ development and debugging skills in kernel and user space.
  • Deep understanding of multi-processing architectures, operating systems and hypervisors.
  • Knowledge of low-level OS and hardware primitives.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented design and standard programming practices.
  • Experience with open source tools and integrating open source packages.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and meet milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, port, maintain, test, debug, optimize, secure, and/or evaluate OS kernel and system software including device drivers, virtualization, hypervisor and other open source components.
  • Manage open source low level packages and patches.
  • Debug kernel and user space drivers and upgrade systems.
  • Implement drivers and functionalities leveraging existing knowledge.
  • Collaborate with team members on engineering tasks contributing to company progress.
  • Engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive new designs and innovations.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize system performance.
