Job summary

The Walker School seeks a dynamic Orton-Gillingham Tutor to support students in grades 1-5. This contract role offers autonomy in tutoring sessions and a focus on building strong relationships with students and families.

The ideal candidate has OG methodology training, is comfortable with 1:1 instruction, and can collaborate with the Learning Support Team to tailor sessions to each learner's needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the education field.
• Orton-Gillingham certification at the Associate level OR completion of Associate-level coursework (within three years) and willingness to obtain certification within two years of the hire date.

Responsibilities

• Create schedules with teachers and parents
• Communicate with teachers, parents, Learning Support, and administration
• Read, interpret and apply testing results
• Adjust instruction to match student needs/progress
• Use multisensory, structured literacy interventions
