Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System is seeking an Orthotist/Prosthetist within the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMRS) Service to provide orthotic and/or prosthetic devices and treatment.

Duties include collaborating with physicians and interprofessional teams, performing gait analysis and clinical assessments, fabricating devices, and documenting patient care. Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm; telework is not available.

Qualifications

• Education recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited institutions.
• Foreign education requires Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with transcript.
• Federal employment qualifications under Fed Competitive hiring path.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with physicians and health professionals to develop O&P treatment plans.
• Conducts gait analysis, ROM, balance, and functional assessments.
• Educates patients and caregivers about procedures, risks, and timelines.
• Selects materials and fabricates components for devices.
• Documents findings and coordinates with care teams to update patient status.
