UA Health Services Foundation in Birmingham, AL is seeking a full-time Orthotics/Prosthetics Technician to support the certified Orthotist/Prosthetist in fabricating and repairing orthoses and prostheses, ensuring proper fit, function and cosmetic appearance. Under supervision, you will perform fabrication, repairs and maintenance, stay current with new techniques, and operate the necessary equipment.

Provides support to the certified Orthotist/Prosthetist in providing care to patients for any orthoses or prostheses. Under the guidance of and in consultation with the Orthotist/prosthetist, the technician fabricates orthoses/prostheses and/or their components in such a manner as to provide maximum fit, function, cosmesis and workmanship. Performs repairs to and maintenance of orthoses/prostheses as assigned. Expected to keep abreast of all new fabricating techniques, must be familiar with the properties of pertinent materials, and must be skilled in the use of appropriate equipment.
H.S. Diploma or G.E.D and two years qualified experience under the supervision of a certified practitioner.
