Job summary

Tufts Corporate in Boston, MA, seeks an Orthoptist or Ophthalmic Medical Technician to join a full-time role (32 hours per week). The position focuses on evaluating and treating eye conditions with emphasis on pediatric and motility issues.

Responsibilities include performing and analyzing results of eye treatments, vision assessments, and assisting ophthalmologists during diagnostic tests and examinations; two years of experience and relevant certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a two year Orthoptist or Ophthalmic Medical Tech program.
• Orthoptist or Ophthalmic Medical Tech Certification.
• Two years of experience as an Orthoptist including teaching experience.

• Responsible for evaluating and recommending treatment of patients with ocular motility disturbances.
• Assists Opthalmologist in all aspects of patient care including diagnostic testing and preliminary examination.

Two year Orthoptist or Ophthalmic Medical Tech program

Orthoptist or Ophthalmic Medical Tech Certification

Two years of experience as an Orthoptist including teaching experience

• Tasks include vision assessments, eye surgeries and advanced forms of eye disease in patients with significant systemic illness.
• Help support specialized eye examination in pedi patients and strabismus in adults. Also assisting the pediatric opthalmologist with pediatric patients with ocular misalignment.
