Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Surgical Coordinator to manage all aspects of tests, procedures, and surgeries across our surgical services. You will coordinate scheduling, pre-op workflows, and communications with physicians, patients, and staff to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, and/or equivalent programs plus two years of related experience.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills required.
• The ability to learn quickly and adapt in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all aspects of tests, procedures and surgeries under supervision.
• Schedules procedures in a prompt, polite, and helpful manner.
• Verifies patient demographics and insurance information; obtains precertification.
• Communicates appointments and preparation information to patients.
• Coordinates pre-admission testing and medical clearances with departments.
• Maintains block time guidelines and coordinates postoperative care.
