Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute in Wesley Chapel, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule in an ambulatory care setting. The role supports physicians and APPs, collects patient data, and assists during examinations and procedures.

Requirements include a high school diploma and completed Medical Assistant training or verifiable care experience. Certification in CPR/BLS is expected with department-specific MA credentials."

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program or verifiable work experience in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care under the direction and supervision of the physician or APP in an ambulatory care setting.
• Supports and demonstrates effective and professional communication with patients and family members.
• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists the physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Documents treatments and patient education according to policies.
• Enter medication, laboratory and diagnostic imaging orders under provider direction.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school
