Dane Street is an Independent Review Organization and a national provider of Utilization Review services, expanding our physician panel to include opportunities for non-traditional physician work and supplemental income. This telework opportunity offers physicians a caseload tailored to your schedule.
Our physician panel consists of independent contract reviewers (1099), compensated per case. We seek physicians who are board certified in Occupational Medicine, hold active California licenses, and have experience with the California Independent Medical Review (IMR) process. IMR is a binding appeals process for disputes related to workers' compensation treatment requests, streamlining the resolution process since July 1, 2013.
In California's workers' compensation system, all treatment requests undergo utilization review (UR). If denied, delayed, or modified due to lack of medical necessity, the injured worker can appeal through IMR. IMR physicians evaluate cases using evidence-based guidelines, including the Medical Treatment Utilization Schedule (MTUS) and Official Disability Guidelines (ODG), and must be skilled in medicolegal writing.
