Job summary

Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support physicians, RNs, and patients in our clinic locations. The role includes preparing for procedures, reviewing patient information, taking vitals, and assisting with scheduling and quality improvements.

Ideal candidates have a Medical Assistant program graduation and CMA/NHA/RMA certification, plus at least one year in a public-facing healthcare role. Occasional weekend shifts may be required to cover clinics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; CMA, NHA, or RMA certification required.
• Graduation from Medical Assistant Program.
• Minimum one year work experience in public contact job, preferably service related, healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide all duties of a Medical Assistant.
• Arrive 30 minutes prior to start of clinic to prep for the clinical day.
• Obtain vitals, update patient history, reconcile home medications, review allergies and smoking status.
• Assist with injections, wound care, cast care, and other procedures; prepare supplies.
• Travel between clinics as required and support scheduling and quality improvement activities.
