Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or at least one year of verifiable and applicable work experience as a Medical Assistant in a patient care setting) required.
• BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to the Assistant Nurse Manager or Practice Manager for operational issues.
• Embraces quality initiatives and clinical outcome process improvement.
• Communicates professionally with patients and families.
• Collaborates with administrative and operations staff.
• Gathers patient data through interview and observation.
• Assists patients and families with examination preparation.
• Assists the physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Provides routine treatments and administers approved medications.
• Documents patient data, treatments, and education according to policies.
• Schedules specialty testing and physician consultations as needed.
• Handles calls independently and professionally using clinical judgment.
