Job summary

Ascension in Austin, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Orthopedics department. You will prepare exam rooms, capture vitals, and document care plans to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the visit.

The role requires CMA certification or equivalent, BLS, and a high school diploma equivalency or equivalent experience. Travel within North Austin as needed for patient coverage. This is a full-time, day-shift position in the Orthopedics unit.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification required within 1 month of hire.
• CMA or equivalent credential within 6 months of hire.
• Travel within North Austin as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical flow by preparing exam rooms and prioritizing patient transitions.
• Capture patient vitals and interview to provide a real-time clinical picture.
• Transcribe diagnoses, orders, and follow-up instructions into the patient record.
• Manage supplies to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
