Job summary

University Orthopedics in Providence, RI is seeking a Billing Specialist - Physician for an in-office role. The position reports to the Billing Manager and focuses on comprehensive orthopedic billing activities at our Providence location.

Responsibilities include posting payments, following up on claims, tracking denials, handling refunds, and assisting with billing calls. A minimum of three years in healthcare billing with CPT/ICD-10 knowledge is required; orthopedic experience is preferred,

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of billing experience in a health care organization.
• CPT and ICD-10 knowledge required; aging and collection processing experience a plus.
• Orthopedics surgical billing experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential.
• Ability to travel to all sites when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Researches all information needed to complete the billing process including posting payments into the practice management system
• Follow up on claims, including tracking denials, resolving underpayments in a timely manner, managing refunds, and filing appeals
• Assist with answering billing calls
• Additional duties as assigned by the Manager to meet department needs
