Foot and Ankle Division Chief

Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute

The Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute (LVOI) seeks an outstanding leader in Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Surgery to serve as our Division Chief. The LVOI is one of the country's largest and busiest Musculoskeletal care centers; our nearly 200 providers perform over 27,000 Orthopedic procedures annually. Our Institute has been recognized by US News & World Report as one of the top in the nation.

In partnership with the Physician-in-Chief (to whom the successful candidate would report) and the Executive Leadership Council (ELC), the roles and responsibilities of the Foot & Ankle Division Chief include, but are not limited to:

  1. Overseeing clinical operations for all Foot & Ankle Surgery at all locations
  2. Managing the day-to-day activities of the Division and its Section of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery
  3. Mentoring Division members, promoting educational programs, and encouraging scientific inquiry
  4. Collaborating with the Physician-in-Chief and ELC to direct the strategy and vision for LVOI, contributing insights from the Foot & Ankle Division, and upholding the Institute's Citizenship commitments
  5. Planning and managing the clinical expansion of the Division through strategic recruitment and retention of talent
  6. Working collaboratively with leadership across all divisions within LVOI and the broader Network
  7. Preparing to assume higher leadership roles, such as Department or Program Director, especially if LVOI begins an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Residency or Foot & Ankle Fellowship

The successful candidate will be supported in developing their clinical practice and will be assigned an administrative dyad partner to assist with leadership responsibilities.

Participation in scholarly activities in their specialty and promoting the collection and application of Institute-wide quality and outcome measures are encouraged.

The position may be based at any of our care locations across the large geographic footprint, with preferences considered.

  • Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Residency program
  • Completion of a year-long Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Fellowship
  • Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery
