Job summary

Texas Health Fort Worth is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Orthopedic Trauma Department to provide high-quality patient care on a 36-bed unit in the Justin Tower.

This full-time, 7P-7A position includes rotating weekends and holidays, with opportunities for education and career growth and a supportive leadership team.

The unit treats adolescent and adult trauma and orthopedic cases, with telemetry as needed and strong emphasis on patient safety and continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or Nursing Diploma required.
• BSN preferred.
• One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
• Current BLS (required) – prior to providing independent patient care.
• CPI training within 90 days of hire (required)
• 1+ years of Med/surg, Trauma or Orthopedic RN experience in acute care setting (preferred)
• ONC – Orthopedic Nurse Certified within 2 years (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizes the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
