Job summary
Virtua Reconstructive Orthopedics is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the inpatient Orthopedic Trauma Team in Mt. Holly. The role includes surgical first assist, hospital rounds, and cross-service support.
Required: accredited PA/NP program, NJ licensure (PA) or NJ prescriptive authority (NP), NCCPA certification, and at least two years in orthopedics. BLS and a valid driver’s license are needed. Benefits are comprehensive.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- PA: NCCPA Certification and Physician Assistant license issued by the State of New Jersey.
- NP: CRNP or APN certification with prescriptive authority through the NJ State Board of Nursing.
- Minimum two years of orthopedic experience including surgical first assist.
- BLS Certification.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Responsibilities
- Obtains a relevant and complete social, medical and orthopedic history.
- Performs a comprehensive physical examination with strong anatomy knowledge.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests including labs and imaging.
- Conducts hospital rounds and collaborates with Orthopedic Trauma Team.
- Assists in surgical procedures and perioperative care as needed.
- Provides patient education and discharge planning.
