Position Summary

Supervises daily activities of clinical support staff, and ancillary services including DME (durable medical equipment), splinting and casting associated with patient care. Travel is required.

Job Description
  • Supervises support staff involved in clinical activities at clinical office sites, which includes training staff on casting, splinting, DME fittings, wound care, suture and staple removal. Ensures staff are trained and audited on proper documentation when patient care is provided, and trains staff on proper billing for DME products.
  • Reviews daily provider schedules to ensure sites are appropriately staffed.
  • Maintains adequate workflow, coverage, and schedules which includes managing employee time off and overtime.
  • Provides clinical coverage as needed.
  • Interviews and hires applicants for positions, supervises training of new employees, conducts annual reviews, job performance counseling and makes salary recommendations.
  • Resolves personnel problems, conducts meetings pertinent to staffing issues and documents appropriately.
  • Meets frequently with direct reports, provide coaching and mentoring to staff.
  • Assists manager with reviewing provider DME needs of new and existing products.
  • Enters and reviews patient and staff safety events.
  • Implements and maintains clinical office procedure and training manuals.
  • Serves as a liaison between service provider, patient and support personnel.
  • Orders supplies and manages inventory.
  • Assists with clinical site inspection.
  • Responsible for service recovery/patient concerns and maintaining patient complaint log.
  • Ensures CMS guidelines are followed at all clinical sites.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date

Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

Preferred Requirements

Training as an Orthopedic Technologist, Medical Assistant, Cast Technician, Certified Athletic Trainer or EMT (Emergency Medical Technician).

Certified Orthopedic Technologist by the NBCOT.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: No additional education unless stated elsewhere in the job posting.
