Job summary

Florida Orthopaedic Institute is seeking an Orthopedic Technician/Athletic Trainer to measure, fit and dispense braces and casts under physician direction. You will document patient data in EMR and manage DME inventory while maintaining a clean, well-stocked work area, ensuring smooth clinic flow and excellent customer service.

The role requires ATC certification, a BS degree or higher, and 1–2 years in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Certified Athletic Trainer with required credentials.
• BS degree or higher preferred.
• 1–2 years in medical field experience.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, EMR systems.
• Ability to perform tasks independently with guidance from the DME Manager.
• Willing to perform other duties and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Applies and educates patients on DME/bracing to protect or prevent injuries.
• Applies and educates patients on bandages, casts, and splints.
• Answers patient questions regarding casts, splints, or DME.
• Documents in Athena EMR and Empower inventory systems for all DME items dispensed.
• Maintains the cast room clean and sanitary after each patient.
• Ensures casting and DME supplies are stocked; reports inventory issues.
• Receives DME and supply orders; verifies packing slips.
• Promotes teamwork and morale within the department.
• Attends regular staff meetings with the DME Manager and Supervisors.
• Supports clinic flow and patient service quality.
