Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring an Orthopedic Tech for an evening, full-time role on a 24-bed unit. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 3pm–11pm, serving patients after orthopedic surgery including joint replacements, spine and hand procedures.

You will prepare and clean treatment areas, position patients, transport them, and assist with supplies while supporting clerical and clinical staff to carry out treatment plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year of health care experience preferred.
• One year of patient care experience preferred.

Overview:

Sentara Healthcare is currently hiring an Orthopedic Tech to work at Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA.

Hours/Shift:

Full-time, Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm

Department/Position Overview:

This 24-bed unit works with patients that have had Orthopedic Surgery and med/surg patients as needed. The majority of our patients have had joint replacements, spine surgery or hand surgery. The ortho techs on the unit will assist with the mobility of the patients. We welcome interviewed applicants to shadow the unit to see what we are all about. As an Orthopedic Tech with Sentara, you will work under direct supervision of clinical staff and therapists. You will be responsible for preparing/cleaning treatment areas, positioning patients, procurement and inventory of supplies and transporting patients. Supporting both clerical and clinical staff in successful provision of treatment plans.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

One year of prior health care experience preferred.

One year of prior patient care experience preferred.

One yar of prior acute care experience preferred.

The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.39 - $35.60 hourly.Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
