Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute in Wesley Chapel, FL seeks an Orthopedic Tech/Medical Assistant, Certified. The role supports physicians in the Orthopedics department, assisting with patient transport, applying casts and braces, and performing routine clinical tasks in a full-time, Monday through Friday schedule.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, Medical Assistant training or equivalent experience, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant training from a recognized program or one year of verifiable CMA experience required.
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider certification and listed CMA/CCMA/CMAC/NCMA/NRCMA/NRCAMA/NAHP/RMA credentials.

Responsibilities

• Assists with transport of patients.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Assists with transport of patients.
• Performs any variation of the job that is directly related to the function of an orthopedic technician.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Other Related Functions

• Assists the orthopedic surgeons requested.
• Participates in Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Indicator (QI) as assigned.
• Performs patient rounds, charting, charging, regular cleaning of equipment and in service education that is directly related to the orthopedic technician service.

Qualifications

Education/Training High school diploma or equivalent required.

Licensure/Certification Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or at least one (1) year of verifiable and applicable work experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a patient care setting) required.

Licensure/Certification

• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification – and
• Maintains current certification or registration by one of the following agencies:
