Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute in Wesley Chapel, FL, seeks an Orthopedic Tech/Medical Assistant, Certified, to join the Orthopedics department. The role supports physician orders by assembling and applying casts and braces, and assisting with patient transport and related tasks.

The position is full-time from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth within the Orlando Health system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training or verifiable CMA/CCMA certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains punctual attendance and compliance with policies.
• Supports orthopedic surgeons and participates in QA/QI activities.

Essential Functions

• Assists with transport of patients.
• Performs any variation of the job that is directly related to the function of an orthopedic technician.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Other Related Functions

• Assists the orthopedic surgeons requested.
• Participates in Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Indicator (QI) as assigned.
• Performs patient rounds, charting, charging, regular cleaning of equipment and in service education that is directly related to the orthopedic technician service.

Education/Training

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Licensure/Certification

Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or at least one (1) year of verifiable and applicable work experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a patient care setting) required.

Licensure/Certification
