Job summary

Medical City Specialty Surgicenter of Dallas, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will assist with safe and effective nursing care in the operating room, including direct patient care, scrubbing, turnover, and recording pertinent data.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, Surgical Tech Certification, one year OR experience, and BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program as required by facility practice and state regulation.
• Surgical Tech Certification is required.
• One year experience in an operating room setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate necessary practical, technical, or specialized skills for the surgical technician per standards.
• Assist in preparing the operative suite by gathering supplies, equipment, and instruments.
• Ensure asepsis in handling instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressings.
• Assist in turnover of OR suites between cases and clean equipment and surfaces.
• Prepare procedure room for use the following day and report shortages to supervisor.
