Responsibilities

• Perform orthopedic surgeries focusing on hip and joint procedures.
• Manage a mix of inpatient and outpatient cases.
• Be available for general ortho call with an estimated 3-5 call days per month.

Job Summary

Valley Baptist Physician Network is expanding its orthopedic program and seeking a fellowship-trained Hip & Joint Surgeon to join an established, multi‑specialty group in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley. You will operate within a 586‑bed Level II Trauma Center equipped with cutting‑edge surgical technology—including da Vinci robotic systems, Brainlab computer navigation, and an AIRO mobile intraoperative CT—bringing capabilities to South Texas that are rare in markets this size. A dedicated Ortho/Trauma floor, an on‑site Ortho Trauma provider for VBMC coverage, and an MBC connected directly to the hospital OR mean your time goes to patients, not logistics. This is a high‑impact opportunity in a fast‑growing region where your skills will genuinely shape the standard of orthopedic care.

Position Highlights

• Hip & Joint orthopedic surgery with fellowship training or extensive experience preferred
• Flexible schedule: 2–3 days per week split between clinic and OR block time
• Clinic hours Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• 70/30 inpatient/outpatient case mix
• Estimated 3–5 call days per month, inclusive of general ortho call
• Dedicated Ortho/Trauma floor at Valley Baptist Medical Center – Harlingen
• Ortho Trauma provider on staff, providing VBMC coverage
• Office located in the Medical Office Building with walking‑distance access to the hospital OR
• Potential for privileges at sister facility in Brownsville
