Job summary

Saint Agnes Medical Providers (SAMP) in Fresno, California seeks a full-time Nurse Practitioner (RNFA) or PA to join a dynamic Sports Orthopedic Surgery team. The APP will collaborate with an Orthopedic Surgeon and multidisciplinary care team in surgical, inpatient, outpatient, and clinic settings.

The role emphasizes perioperative management and surgical first assist duties, with opportunities for teaching patients and families about recovery expectations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current California NP or PA license required.
• DEA registration and CDS certification.
• Current BLS; ACLS preferred.
• NP candidates must hold RNFA certification.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Surgical First Assist during orthopedic procedures.
• Provide perioperative patient care across perioperative phases.
• Conduct inpatient rounds and outpatient follow-ups.
• Perform assessments, order/interpret tests, aid treatment planning.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team and staff.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, and rehab.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records.
• Share orthopedic call responsibilities as part of the team.
