Job summary

Saint Agnes Medical Providers (SAMP) is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join Fresno's Sports Orthopedic Surgery team. The APP will provide perioperative care and surgical first assist across inpatient, outpatient, and clinic settings.

The role collaborates with orthopedic surgeons and a multidisciplinary team; requires California NP/PA license, DEA, BLS, and RNFA (for NP) with prior surgical experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• NP candidates must hold RNFA certification.
• Current California NP or PA license.
• DEA registration and Controlled Substance certification.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Current national certification (AANP/ANCC for NP or NCCPA for PA).
• Minimum of 3 years of surgical/perioperative first assist experience preferred.
• Experience in orthopedic or sports medicine surgery strongly preferred.
• Ability to obtain hospital privileges at Saint Agnes Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Surgical First Assist during orthopedic procedures.
• Provide perioperative patient care, including pre-operative evaluations, intraoperative assistance, and post-operative management.
• Inpatient rounds and outpatient follow-ups to ensure continuity of care.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and assist in treatment planning.
• Coordinate and manage the care of assigned patients, directing ancillary staff as appropriate.
• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, procedures, rehabilitation plans, and recovery expectations.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
• Participate in shared general orthopedic call responsibilities as part of the care team.
• Join a physician-led, 120+ provider multispecialty group.
• Work alongside Orthopedic Surgeons, Sports Medicine/Family Medicine Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers.
• Affiliated with Saint Agnes Medical Center, recognized as Best Regional Hospital.

Saint Agnes Medical Providers (SAMP) is seeking a full time Nurse Practitioner (NP) with RNFA certification and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join a dynamic Sports Orthopedic Surgery team in Fresno, California. This position supports a busy, growing orthopedic practice and works in close collaboration with a Sports Orthopedic Surgeon and multidisciplinary care team.

The APP functions as an integral part of the care team, providing comprehensive patient care across surgical, inpatient, outpatient, and clinic settings, with a strong emphasis on perioperative management and surgical first assist responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Surgical First Assist during orthopedic procedures, following best practices and maintaining surgical safety standards.
• Provide perioperative patient care, including pre-operative evaluations, intraoperative assistance, and post-operative management.
• Conduct inpatient rounds and outpatient follow-ups to ensure continuity of care and optimal recovery outcomes.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and assist in treatment planning.

Minimum Qualifications

Work Schedule

• Full-time, typically Monday-Friday
• Participation in shared orthopedic ED call rotation required
• Pay Range: $64.62 - $103.38 per hour
