Job summary

Illinois Bone & Joint Institute in Bourbonnais, IL seeks a Part-time Registered Nurse in the operating room to support surgical teams with anesthesia and patient care.

The role requires a BSN, IL RN license, BLS/ALS, and at least two years in orthopedic surgery; ASC experience preferred. The nurse will ensure asepsis, coordinate supplies, and maintain safety.

Candidates must be able to work variable hours and comply with company policies and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• BSN is required for this role.
• Valid IL RN license is required.
• BLS and ALS certifications required; PALS preferred.
• Minimum two years in orthopedic surgery.
• Ambulatory surgery center experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to use medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family needs to provide quality care.
• Organizes time, equipment, supplies, and personnel for effective case management.
• Considers cost containment by using supplies economically and in turnover time.
• Prepares the operating room according to requirements of patient/procedure.
• Implements plan of care safely and maintains a safe environment.
• Ensure asepsis during all procedures and manage sterile fields.
• Coordinate with anesthesia and assist during administration.
• Attend safety trainings and follow center safety plans and hazards.
• Maintain current knowledge, certification, and licensure.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
