Surgical Affiliates Management Group (SAMGI) in Mesa, Arizona, is seeking an Orthopedic Trauma Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a high-volume trauma program. You’ll provide inpatient, operative, and perioperative care alongside fellowship-trained surgeons, delivering autonomy and meaningful patient impact.

The role involves evaluating trauma patients, operating room assistance, and coordinating discharges within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current or eligible Arizona PA or NP license.
  • NCCPA certification (PA) or national NP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage orthopedic trauma patients in the emergency department and inpatient setting.
  • Round on hospitalized patients and provide daily management.
  • Assist orthopedic trauma surgeons in the operating room.
  • Perform post-operative care, dressing changes, splinting, casting, and fracture management within scope of practice.
  • Coordinate patient discharges and follow-up care.
  • Document patient encounters and communicate treatment plans with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled.

Join an established, high-volume orthopedic trauma program in Mesa, Arizona, supporting fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeons. You’ll deliver a true mix of inpatient, operative, and perioperative care — collaborating daily with trauma services, emergency medicine, nursing, and rehab teams to get patients back on their feet, faster.

Schedule
  • 183 shifts annually
  • Combination of weekday, weekend, and holiday coverage
What You’ll Do

What You Bring to the Team
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current or eligible Arizona PA or NP license
  • NCCPA certification (PA) or national NP certification
  • Orthopedic, trauma, surgery, or emergency medicine experience preferred
  • Eligible for hospital credentialing and privileges

$630 per shift (183 shifts)
