Job summary

Lyndon Baines Johnson Tropical Medical Center is seeking two Orthopedic Surgeons to perform direct medical care and assist in supervising the Orthopedic Department. The role encompasses primary and outpatient care, supervising residents and physician assistants, and providing consultation services.

Qualifications

• MD from an accredited medical school or MBBS from an accredited foreign school.
• Prefer a Master of Medicine in Orthopedics.
• Eligible for medical licensure in American Samoa.
• Internship, Residency and Fellowship preferred but not required.
• Five years of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides primary care to inpatients including writing treatment plans.
• Cares for outpatients in the clinic and ensures proper follow-up.
• Responsible for supervision and guidance to orthopedic physician assistants.
• Supervises residents, medical students, and Physician Assistants on the service.
• Provides consultation services to other departments of the hospital.
