Job summary

The US Navy seeks an Orthopedic Surgeon to provide advanced care to service members and families. The role offers both full-time and part-time positions with opportunities to lead surgical innovation, research, and education within a diverse military medical environment.

Candidates must be US citizens with medical licensure and board eligibility or certification. You will collaborate with fellow military physicians and may engage in international relief initiatives and specialized staff

As a full time or part time Orthopedic Surgeon with the Navy, you will:

  • Deliver the most advanced medical care to our nation’s heroes and their families.
  • Gain surgical experience and pioneer new treatments, from bionic prosthetics to bone and tissue regeneration.
  • Access the most advanced medical technology and resources to practice medicine.
  • Conduct medical research on diseases of military importance, and conduct, supervise and participate in graduate medical education and training.
  • Collaborate with fellow military doctors and other healthcare officers.
  • Partner with International Relief Teams and organizations, such as FEMA, USAID and Project Hope.
  • Have the potential to exercise command of medical units and/or perform special staff functions for commanders at all levels.
  • Eligible full-time Active Duty surgeon scan receive up to a $600K signing bonus. Our Financial Assistance Program provides financial incentives to physicians in select residencies and fellowships leading to appointments on active duty. Eligible candidates receivea $45,000 annual grant while in residency or fellowship training and a monthly stipend in excess of $3,113.
