Job summary

Decatur Memorial Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Spine Team on-site. This full-time role collaborates with supervising physicians to diagnose and treat patients within established protocols while maintaining comprehensive documentation and adherence to payer standards.

Schedule: four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts, daytime coverage. Compensation ranges from $44.00 to $77.00 per hour, dependent on experience and credentials.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain licensing as an APRN or PA as required by Illinois State Law.
• Maintain IL Controlled Substance license (must be obtained within 3 months of hire).
• Maintain DEA license (must be obtained within 3 months of hire) where required.
• Valid CPR certification required.
• ACLS where required.

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with supervising physician(s), assess, diagnose, and treat patients.
• Follow protocols with supervising physician direction and encourage follow-up with primary care.
• Partner with physicians to promote effective patient care.
• Provide visit documentation and testing for review and signature.
• Communicate with physician when needing clarification before ordering tests or referrals.
• Complete documentation according to Medicare, Medicaid, and payer standards and MHS policies.
• Coordinate patient resources and collaborate with other health care professionals as needed.
• Evaluate and modify care plans to improve outcomes.
• Serve as a clinical consultant to healthcare professionals.
• Review literature and research findings relevant to patient care.
• Assist in implementing research findings and monitor impact on outcomes.
• Utilize data to analyze performance and improve outcomes.
• Develop and evaluate education activities for the specialty area.
• Maintain active role in community and professional programs.
• Assist in meeting financial goals and maintain productivity according to budget.
