Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an APTA accredited therapy assistant program with an Associates degree.
• Must be eligible for State Board Examination and pass licensing exam to continue practice beyond a temporary license.
• PTA must maintain all requirements of State licensure.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients ONLY under the direction of a Physical Therapist as defined by state law.
• Administer treatment with therapeutic exercise, massage, and devices under supervision.
• Make minor modifications to treatment plans within the plan of care and document progress.
• Assist the Physical Therapist with evaluations and document treatment progress.
