Job summary

Hospital for Special Surgery, West Palm Beach, FL, is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide independent orthopedic care. You will evaluate patients, assist in surgeries, and support perioperative management in a busy clinical and hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current and unrestricted Florida licensure as PA or APRN.
• NCCPA certification or national board certification; DEA registration.
• NCCPA certification or equivalent for PAs.
• Minimum 2 years of orthopedic experience preferred, outpatient and OR.
• BLS/ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate and manage new and established patients.
• Provide perioperative care including pre/post-operative evaluations.
• Function as first assist in surgical procedures and wound closure.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and discharge planning.
• Perform office-based orthopedic procedures including joint injections and aspirations.
• Participate in inpatient rounding and coordinate care with teams; support discharge planning.
• Communicate with patients, educate on diagnoses, procedures, and recovery.
• Accurately document encounters in the EHR and ensure compliance with standards.
• Initiate outpatient and inpatient orders; coordinate care across providers.
