Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and completion of a Physician’s Assistant program.
• PA licensure within the first three months following the receipt of a complete application for medical staff membership and privilege.
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Manages a broad spectrum of patients and performs a wide range of clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to assess health status, collect histories and perform physical exams, and diagnose health and development problems.
• Assesses patient/family psychosocial needs, educational needs and barriers to learning during admission.
• Examines patients and documents findings to recognize early problems and consults with the physician.
• Develops an individualized plan of care using established standards and evidence-based practice.
• Maintains professional communication with patients, families, and the care team.
