Job summary

Carolina Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine is seeking a Physical Therapist to participate in an ABPTRFE-accredited Orthopedic Residency program. This full-time role includes mentorship, didactic coursework, and clinical hours to support an Orthopedic Certification pathway.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, delivering direct care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Current South Carolina PT license or eligible to obtain one.
• CPR certification is required.
• Exercise, sports rehab and manual-based skills are preferred.
• Outgoing and energetic personality with strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication and people skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to develop and initiate treatment plans based on evaluation results.
• Review physician's referral and patient records to determine required treatment.
• Provide direct patient care per established protocols and guidelines.
• Document findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers.
• Coordinate with assistants and rehabilitation technicians under supervision.
• Create a written plan of care with goals and a comprehensive program.
• Implement the physical therapy treatment program and essential treatments.
• Communicate with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurers.
• Ensure timely documentation and progress/discharge reports.
• For residency track candidates, complete mentorship, coursework, and clinical hours alongside duties.
