Job summary

Twin Cities Orthopedics is seeking a Physician Assistant to support clinic and operating room duties in the Waconia and Chaska locations. The role involves assisting physicians in patient care, pre-operative planning, casting, wound management, and prescribing medications as permitted.

The candidate must graduate from an accredited PA program, hold NCCPA certification, Minnesota medical license, and DEA registration.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• NCCPA certification.
• Minnesota Board of Medical Practice registration/license.
• DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in clinic: prep patients, gather medical data, document health history and exam results.
• Assist surgeon in operating room with pre-surgery planning, positioning, instrument checks and wound closure.
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as splinting, casting, suturing and wound care.
• Apply, remove and adjust casts and dressings; manage wound care.
• Develop and implement patient management plans; monitor progress and care provision.
• Consult with patients via phone or in-person for casts, dressings, braces; assist in follow-up care.
• Provide rounding and on-call support as required by supervising physician.
• Prescribe medications where permitted.
