Job summary

UMass Memorial Health – Milford Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Orthopedics team in Milford, MA. You will provide comprehensive orthopedic and sports medicine care for adolescents and adults, conduct new patient consultations, manage post-operative care, and perform office-based procedures.

The role requires a Master’s degree, MA license with national certification, and DEA/CS registrations.

Qualifications

• Masters degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Massachusetts license, with national certification (ANCC, AANP, NCCPA).
• Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA Registration are required.
• A minimum of 1–2 years of APP experience in a clinical practice setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage an independent patient panel.
• Strong communication, clinical assessment, and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive orthopedic and sports medicine care for adolescent and adult patients.
• Conduct new patient consultations and follow-up visits.
• Manage post-operative patient care.
• Perform cortisone injections and basic office-based procedures.
• Evaluate and manage fractures, joint conditions, sports injuries, and general orthopedic concerns.
• Review diagnostic imaging, including basic X-ray interpretation.
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate patient care.
• Order and interpret laboratory and imaging studies.
• Manage prescription refills and medication requests.
• Respond to patient portal messages, telephone encounters, and in-basket communications.
• Collaborate with a team of orthopedic physicians while maintaining an independent patient panel.
