Overview
Lubbock Sports Medicine is seeking an experienced and eager Medical Assistant to work alongside fellow Medical Assistants, Clinic Coordinators, Physician Assistants, and Doctors.
Responsibilities
- Insurance authorizations (MRIs, injections, etc.)
- Staple & suture removal
- Answering and returning patient phone calls
- Rooming patients and obtaining history & vitals
- Scheduling appointments
- Being the liaison between patient and provider
Education & Certification
- Allied Healthcare Professional preferred (Medical Assistant, Licensed V. Nurse, Athletic Trainer, etc.)
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- BLS Certification preferred
- Allied Healthcare Profession License or Certification required
Experience
- Previous work experience in healthcare preferred
- Previous work experience in orthopedics preferred
- 1 year healthcare experience preferred
- 1 year orthopedic experience preferred
Skills
- Experience with EHR (Electronic Health Records) preferred
- Bracing & casting preferred
- Drawing injections preferred
- Basic computer skills required
- Friendly and willing to learn
Schedule & Hours
Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (Lunch 12:00-1:00)
Friday 8:00 AM-12:00 PM
Saturday Sports Injury 8:30 AM-11:00 AM
Job Type & Compensation
- Full-time
- Hourly rate: $15.00+ based on experience and education
