Job summary

Michigan Orthopaedic Surgeons in Southfield, MI is seeking a qualified Radiologic Technologist to join our leading orthopaedic imaging team. You will prepare patients, perform radiologic procedures, and ensure safety and accuracy in imaging.

Responsibilities include operating PACS/DR/CR equipment, maintaining radiology rooms, and following exposure guidelines. The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited X-Ray Technologist Program with RT-R/ARRT certification and a commitment to patient

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited X-Ray Technologist Program.
• RT-R and ARRT Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for radiologic procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• Maintain working knowledge in the use of PACS, DR and CR Radiologic equipment.
• Maintain Radiology rooms and stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies. Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.
• Explain procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• Move imaging equipment into specified position, determine exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
• Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
