Job summary

Michigan Orthopaedic Surgeons is seeking a qualified Radiologic Technologist to join our orthopaedic imaging team. You will prepare patients, perform X-ray procedures, and ensure high-quality imaging while prioritizing safety and patient comfort.

The role requires RT-R and ARRT certifications, experience with PACS, and strong teamwork to support our comprehensive musculoskeletal care platform.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited X-Ray Technologist Program.
• Certified Registered Technician of Radiography (RT-R) and ARRT Certification.
• Strong knowledge of radiologic safety and patient care protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for radiologic procedures and take X-rays following safety procedures.
• Maintain working knowledge of PACS, DR and CR radiologic equipment.
• Maintain Radiology rooms and stock necessary medical supplies; position patients for imaging.
• Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views as requested by physician.
• Explain procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
• Operate imaging equipment and set exposure factors to produce detailed images.
• Follow radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
• Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for radiologic procedures and takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• Maintain working knowledge in the use of PACS, DR and CR Radiologic equipment.
• Maintain Radiology rooms and stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies. Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.
• Explain procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• Move imaging equipment into specified position, determine exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
• Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
