Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Associates - OSSM in Temecula is seeking a Back Office Medical Assistant to support doctors, prep patients, and keep our clinic days running smoothly.

You'll interview patients, measure vitals, transcribe orders, prepare treatment rooms, drape and hand instruments, sterilize supplies, and manage basic record keeping. This role requires completing a Medical Assistant course and familiarity with Prime Clinical EMR.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant course, with orthopedic experience.
• Knowledge of Prime Clinical EMR software; training provided if needed.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, memos, and write simple correspondence.
• Clear communication with patients, physicians, and coworkers in person or in groups.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patient charts.
• Transcribe doctor's orders, visit details, and treatment plans under physician supervision.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Drape and position patients, set up instruments, and hand items to the doctor.
• Clean and sterilize instruments.
• Inventory and order medical supplies and materials, including DME.
• Coordinate with patients and verify authorization for DME orders.
• Fit orthopedic braces and apply bracing and casting as needed.
• Administer routine diagnostic tests or schedule patients for tests.
• Maintain medical records and enter data; complete insurance forms.
• Learn and apply ICD-10 changes as necessary; follow HIPAA guidelines.
