Job summary

Shelby County Health Care Corporation is seeking a licensed practical nurse to join the OPD Orthopedics team in Memphis, TN. The role requires ensuring patient care per physician orders, assessing needs, and supporting the health care team throughout procedures and care plans.

The incumbent will document patient information, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and contribute to discharge planning while maintaining safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a LPN school/program.
• Licensed Practical Nurse to work in state TN.
• Current BLS certification.
• At least 1 year experience in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Collects key information from patient, family, laboratory, and other medical reports.
• Assists physicians, registered nurse and other health team with interventions, procedures and examinations.
• Performs therapeutic nursing interventions as ordered by the physician and aligned with standards of care.
• Takes and monitors vital signs, administers medications, and manages dressing changes and IV care.
• Provides teaching to patient/family and documents patient status and progress.
• Maintains patient records and participates in discharge planning and transfer coordination.
